Entrepreneurial Celebration -
An Opportunity to Catch the Entrepreneurial Spirit!
The Business and Computer Systems Division and the CEBE hosted the semiannual Entrepreneurial Celebration on December 3, 2008. The Celebration is held each semester and provides students the opportunity to give their business "Rocket Pitch"
to community members and possible investors.
Two distinct student groups presented on Dec. 3:
Students in the Entrepreneurship and Creativity course presented Rocket Marketing pitches for their business idea. The first place winner was Shelby Kennedy's Quill Vision Enterprises. Quill Vision Enterprises provides audio tracks of foreign films for vision impaired people. Second place went to Dominique Dominguez for Children Helping Children, a community based non-profit organization that provides a safe place for children and adults to create art.
Students in the Technology Transfer class presented market analyses of government-funded inventions. The winning team was "Auto Matrol" which is a robot that is responsive to algorithms and can be used on multiple surfaces. The second place team was Organo Gel, soy-based thermo-sensitive hydrogels. The hydrogels may have many applications in health care and other arenas.
Stay tuned for the Spring 2009 date!
